Saint Peter Claver
On Sunday, we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Peter Claver. He was born in Verdu, Catalonia, Spain and entered the Jesuit novitiate at 20 years old. Following his time at Jesuit college of Montesión, he set sail for Cartagena, Colombia. After 6 years of studying in Tunja and Bogotá, he was ordained a priest in Cartagena. During his 38 years, he catechized and baptized over 300,000 slaves. He was canonized by Pope Leo XIII on January 15, 1888.

'Adopt A Pew'
As we get near to closing this chapter on our church renovation, we turn to a new chapter. By now, most have received a letter regarding, ‘Adopt a Pew’, which is an effort to rebuild our Building Fund. The overall amount that we are looking to raise is $50,000, which translates to about $1,500 per pew. Any amount received is welcome and we thank you for your generosity. An option is to pay your gift over a period of time.
As we celebrate together the newly renovated church, we will gather for the 10am mass on September 8.

Where are we...?
Shout out to our Reno guys!!! This week they worked 10-hour days to make sure our worship space is ready to celebrate our Feast Day on Sunday. Thanks to Jacob and his crew from R.K Wolfgang.
Volunteers are Needed
We are looking for some volunteers to help out Sunday morning at 9am to move chairs and tables outside.
The Season of Creation starts 1 September, the Day of Prayer for Creation, and ends 4 October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology. Throughout the month-long celebration, the world’s 2.2 billion Christians come together to care for our common home. How will you hope and act with creation this season, when more than ever this sacred and glorious Earth cries for our attention to justice and righteous living?

It’s not too late for new scholars to enroll for K-8 for the 2024-25 school year. Kindergarten will again be FREE, and no one in other grades is turned away due to financial circumstances. Learn more here (stpclaverschool.org/enroll).

Ascension Catholic Academy "Swing For Scholars"
Ascension Catholic Academy is holding its second annual "Swing for Scholars" golf tournament Oct. 8, 2024 at Topgolf in Brooklyn Center. The event raises money for the Academy's four schools, Saint Peter Claver. Your ticket gets you a spot in our tournament, a buffet dinner and two drinks.
